Policies

What you need to know before booking a group study room


There are currently 19 group study rooms available. Please check the room descriptions before booking.


Rooms may be booked for group study by University of Leicester students only. They are not available for individual study, teaching, presentations, interviews or for University meetings.

If you require a room for any formal assessment or teaching, please contact your department who should be able to accommodate you.

You are entitled to make one booking lasting up to 2 hours per group, per day.

A group must consist of at least 4 people for all rooms except room 2.4 where the group must consist of 3 people.

You can only book up to 8 days in advance.

If the room is not occupied within 15 minutes of the start of a booking it may be rebooked to another group, please speak to a member of library staff to do this for you. Outside of staffed service hours, you and your group may use the room for up to 2 hours or until the next group arrives, whichever is soonest.

 

Using a Group Study Room


To use the room simply find the room at the allotted time. We advise bringing your receipt with you as proof of booking.

Please do not leave personal belongings in the rooms.

Rooms should be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking period.

You will need to bring your own whiteboard pens and erasers.

The person booking the room will be responsible for the room.

Furniture should not be moved in or out of the room.

 

Terminals

You are entitled to make one booking lasting up to a maximum of 2 hours per person, per day across all terminals.

You can only book up to 8 days in advance.

As the person making the booking you will be responsible for the terminal. To use the terminal please enter the Express Zone in David Wilson Library and locate yourself at the terminal at the allotted time. Please bring your receipt with you as proof of booking. Please do not leave personal belongings unattended. The terminal should be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking period. If the terminal is not being used within 15 minutes of the start of a booking it may be rebooked to another group.

Interactive Table

You are entitled to make one booking lasting up to a maximum of one hour per person, per day spread across both the table and the wall.

You can book up to 56 days in advance.

As the person making the booking you will be responsible for the interactive table. To use the table please enter the Digital Reading Room at the allotted time; the table can be found at the back of the room. Please bring your receipt with you as proof of booking. Please do not leave personal belongings unattended in the room. The table should be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking period. If the table is not being used within 15 minutes of the start of a booking it may be rebooked to another group.

 

Interactive Wall

You are entitled to make one booking lasting up to a maximum of one hour per person, per day spread across both the table and the wall.

You can book up to 56 days in advance.

As the person making the booking you will be responsible for the interactive wall. To use the wall please enter the Digital Reading Room at the allotted time; the wall is on the right hand side of the room. Please bring your receipt with you as proof of booking. Please do not leave personal belongings unattended in the Digital Reading Room. The wall should be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking period. If the interactive wall is not being used within 15 minutes of the start of a booking it may be rebooked to another group or user.
